What’s this? Suddenly, you’re getting a weak signal, your display dims or goes black, your flash fails, or your cell phone stops charging!
Don't let this become your new wallpaper. The online mobile repair can help through this article.
What is going on?
Your cell phone doesn’t enjoy summer as much as you do, that’s what.
According to Apple, the optimum temperature for iPhone operation runs between 32-95 degrees. The magic number for when an iPhone can start to have real problems? 113 degrees. Android phones also overheat with surprising frequency.
Not just the temperature
Sunlight can also affect your phone or tablet. Think of how hot your car gets in the summer when the sun hits your windows. That’s right, the glass screen acts as a small windshield and soaks up the heat right into your iPhone.

Prevention in operation
Prevention is the first step. There are the obvious preventative measures, like never leaving your phone or tablet in the hot car or sunlight, but there are other ways to keep that phone cool. Here are some things that contribute to the temperature of your devices:
- Games: if you can feel your phone getting warm in your hands in a cool place, remember not to play that particular game when you’re in a warm place.
- Bluetooth: It’s so easy to forget those wireless earbuds can negatively impact your phone.
- Location services and map directions: this one is especially annoying since, when you’re in the hot car during the summer, trying to find your appointment, the map directions can cause your phone to overheat.
- Charging: Charging your phone before you go out is essential in summer.
- Background app refresh: this is another one to shut off. Do you need your phone to update you the second you get an email from a vendor trying to sell you another throw pillow? We’re guessing not.
Avoid these on a hot day.
The case
If your phone case is plastic (and whose isn’t? That same beautiful shell which keeps your phone safe can insulate it and cause overheating.
Your charger
If you got your charger at the dollar store, don’t be surprised if it turns on you and causes your phone to overheat. We know Apple has some nerve charging what they do for their flimsy charger, but the truth is, you’re better off spending the money on a decent charger than on a new battery.

Photos and movies
Taking photos or movies are a huge battery user, and therefore will heat up your cell phone fast. If you’re determined to take pictures or make movies, consider using a tripod and taking the phone out of its case before starting.
If you need to be able to take calls, turn your cell phone on Airplane Mode and remove the case. If you don’t need to receive calls, turn it off and remove the case anyway. Some people suggest putting it in the refrigerator for a couple of minutes (people who have never seen the inside of my fridge, apparently), or putting it in front of a fan.
An overheated cell phone might result in battery damage, screen lifting and even screen breakage. So, do yourself a favor—keep your phone or tablet out of the heat and have a cool summer.
